Alternative to 3M 6650H silicone free thermal gap pad
Silicone free thermal pad 3M 6650H is an acrylic based, medium thermal performance gap filler pad with a thermal conductivity of 3.0W/mK, application temperature is -40°~130°, that’s it.
The acrylic materials is designed for siliocne sensitive applications, no siloxane volatiles, no contaimination. GLPOLY developed silicone free years ago, a full range of thermal conductivity from 2.0W/mK to 6.0W/mK are available.
Here is a comparison between 3M 6650H and GLPOLY XK-PN30 silicone free thermal pad. let’s check the performance. 3M 6650H’s thermal conductivity is 3.0W/mK, there is no remarks for thermal impedance, I guess it’s just medium performance. GLPOLY XK-PN30’s thermal conductivity is 3.0W/mK, and thermal impedance is 0.2℃in2/W. If you know something about thermal interface materials, you will realise XK-PN30’s thermal impedance is lower than that of many traditional silicone or silicone free thermal gap pad. I believe GLPOLY XK-PN30 provides thermal performance as good as 3M 6650H, at least.
There is another vital parameter-hardness as a basis for judging whether it is a quality thermal gap pad. 3M 6650H featured low hardness Asker C 5, do you have any concept of Asker C in mind? What is Asker C? It is an hardness test apparatus, not a universal hardness remark, the universal remark for hardness of thermal gap pad is Shore00 XX. It will get customer confused. GLPOLY XK-PN30’s hardness is Shore00 50, it’s conformable for uneven topography, making contact tight and effective, also, it is convenience for operators hand assembly.
GLPOLY helps you design flexible and keep your devices functioning at their best.
