Many engineers only want to use foreign brand of thermal interface materials, such as FUJIPOLY, 3M, BERGQUIST OR LAIRD, they always worry about the quality of local product. Actually, for example, a thermal gap pad is being made from the same silicone, thermal conducvitity filler, more or less, finally, we’ll get similar product.

Now I take GLPOLY THERMAL PUTTY PAD XK-P80-PUTTY and FUJIPOLY PG80A as an example, let's check out what the difference is.

GLPOLY Thermal putty pad XK-P80-Putty is a high performance, excellent compression and electrical insuation thermal gap pad. Compared with traditional thermal silicone pad, thermal putty pad XK-P80-Putty can be compressed by 90%, it is suitable for small gaps such as 0.3mm, 0.2mm or even smaller, the highly comformable nature allows the thermal pad to fill in air voids and air gaps, decreasing thermal resistance.

XK-P80-Putty thermal gap pad is highly compliant with the component topography, even the unflat surface, making contact effectively.

Both products provide 8.0W/mK of thermal conductivity, GLPOLY XK-P80-Putty’s thermal resistance is 0.1in2/W, it is a little lower than that of Fujipoly PG80A, we can see that GLPOLY thermal putty pad provides more excellent thermal performance than Fujipoly PG80A.

GLPOLY XK-P80-Putty’s volume resistivity is 1.0x1013Ωcm, it offers excellent electrical insulation.
