What benefits can you get from non-silicone based thermal gel? What applications does non-silicone thermal gel go onto?

Compared to thermal silicone gel, non-silicone thermal gel contains no silicone oil, no siloxane volatiles, it will not dry out and provide long-term service life and relibility.

One of our customers found us from internet, and ask if we can offer a thermal gel without silicone oil. Usually the engineer will use thermal silicone gel, bucasue it was easy to obtained. Moreover, some engineers do not understand the materials well, so they do not know what impacts come out for application except heat transfer.

This customer used a silicone thermal gel called THERM-A-GAP-GEL30 before, after three-month reliability test, there was atomization to camera lens, making the image unclear. They found that silicone oil volatilized under condition of long-term high temperature. they need a better solution that could avoid previous impact. So non-silicone material would be the right one.

We provided non-silicone based thermal gel XK-GN30 for customer. in the reliability test, the temperature had been always remained at 60 degree, and no atomization to camera lens.

XK-GN30 is a non-silicone polymer based, high performance thermally conductive gel with thermal conductivity of 3.0W/mK for use as a thermal interface material between high-end processor or other heat source and a heat sink. It provides a ultra thin bondline of 0.1mm, making heat transfer rapidly. XK-GN30 non-silicone thermal gel is designed for silicone-sensitive application which contains optic window or lens, such as auto headlight, camera, laser or LED lights, it will not drip off, pump out or dry out. As liquid material, it can wet-out interface and optimize heat transfer, keeping your device cool and performing at their best.
