Some engineers said the “Al-Plastic film” applied to “cell to pack” structrual battery pack worked as insulation. GLPOLY, a thermally conductive adhesive manufacturer, wanted to claim:”What hidden danger or risk did it bring?”

GLPOLY never talked thoughtlessly, we analyzed that there was a structural bond risk due to bonding strength of 1.0MPa, even less. The battery pack would be destroyed such as falling to piece or short circuit under disaster impact. Instead, “Al-Al”structure is the most safe, reliable and economic. At present, there were at least three sorts of applications including “Al-Epoxy film”, ”Al-PVC film”and ”Al-Acrylic film”at market. Thermal solution suppliers and electric vehicle manufacturers were verifying method of trial and error, so our pioneer “Al-Al”solution casued fierce debate and attracted attention from many engineers.

Currently, some advantages of polyurethane based thermally conductive adhesive can not be achieved, and bonding strength of epoxy based can not be improved.
