Several month ago, one customer contacted me and said he was looking for a thermal gel which would be applied in automotive electronics, requesting a thermal conductivity of 3.0W/mK, and thermal performance degradation should less than 10% after high temperature aging test. To met these requirements, I recommended thermal gel XK-G30 with a thermal conductivity of 3.2W/mK. “Actually I want to find an alternative to SPG-30B due to its high cost and very long lead time, not lack of performance, so the substitute should provide equivalent performance to SPG-30B. In the coming months, customer tested XK-G30 thermal gel with high temperature aging test at 150 Cesius degree for 1000hrs and extreme temperature cycling from -40 to 150 celsius degree for 500 cycles. After aging test, he tested the samples. When he got test report, he was surprised. Why? The thermal conductivity was 3.05W/mK, and change was less than 5% which was far below customer’s desgin requirement. Furthermore, comparing with 40 days lead time of SPG-30B, GLPOLY promised you a 15-day lead time, providing purchasing and logistics flexibility. Now GLPOLY XK-G30 thermal gel has been introduced into supply system for trial production.  Approval for volume production is just a matter of time.
