Medical equipment requires more efficient thermal management solution for reliability and performance. What kinds of thermal interface materials will be applied to medical equipment? We had tested many high thermal conductivity thermal gap pads manufactured by domestic manufacturers, and found that the measured performance of products were much lower than data marked on specification. Ealier January, I received an inquiry from a medical equipment manufacturing company. The engineer, Mr. Liu was looking for a thermal gap pad which would be applied to CT machine in size of 10x10mm. The operation temperature would be 80 Celsius degree based on prediction of evaluation of design, a efficient thermal management solution and performance thermal interface materials were required.

After reviewing customer’s statement of requirements, we recommended XK-P60 a 6.0W/mK thermal gap pad to customer. We delivered samples in three days after getting customer’s approval about this product. Mr. Liu said he would carried out ageing test for three months to check the reliability of performance.

Three months later, I got Mr. Liu’s call, he was satisfied with the performance of XK-P60 thermal gap pad, data change before and after test was within 5%, temperature rise was 15 Celsius degree lower than he expected, GLPOLY thermal gap pad XK-P60 was the only one he had tested that could meet design requirements, he would introduce XK-P60 into supplier system for trial production. Last month, this project has been launched for volume production.

GLPOLY has introduced nano-scale grinder to reduce particle size, increasing contact between particles and increasing filling ratio, improving performance of thermal gap pad. Maybe GLPOLY is the only one that re-process raw materials.
