GLPOLY XK-G40 thermal gel has been used in electronic control unit of Lixiang Motor.
Many customers get confused by thermal gel and thermal silicone grease. Thermal silicone grease will drip off, pollute components, more importantly it will become dry-out in high temperature, decreasing heat transfer thus leading to component failure. An electric vehicle cutomer from Beijing who has partnered with us on battery pack consulted me about one component performance liquid material. according to communication, we recommended XK-G40 thermal gel with 5.0W/mK thermal conductivity to him. After he reviewed some data, he asked if this was a thermal silicone grease. If it was, it should be negative because silicone oil would be volatilized and dry out in maybe one year, he tested thermal silicone grease before.
We showed customer the test report issued by third party. It would provide 8-year service life and never dry out within service temperature. Customer would like to test such an excellent material. in the next three months, customer had carried out an accelerated aging test and high and low temperature altering test. result has been anticipated, change of key parameters was less than 5% before and after test. after he took devices apart, he found thermal gel maintained paste state. it meant that thermal gel still performed at its best. Now XK-G40 thermal gel is in volume production.
