Many thermal management engineers struggle with thermal gap pad selection for AI devices due to lack of understanding about material, maybe. GLPOLY XK-P20 series products can meet the need of most electronic devices.

Here is a thermal management case of chip of logistics vehicle.

This customer wanted to use a thermal gap pad as thermal solution for the logistics vehicles shuttling between floors. Maybe he was not sure about thermal conductivity he needed, he just asked what we could provide, the higher the better. If we received inquiry like this, we needed to learn statement of requirements first. After reviewing the requirements, we could determine what material was suitable for this application. According to description, temperature must be decreased from 85 Celsius degree to 60 Celsius degree. We recommended XK-P20 thermal gap pad with 3.0W/mK thermal conductivity at 1.0mm thick. Customer doubted whether the performance was enough, in his vision, a 4.0W/mK thermal gap pad was required.

Performance of thermal gap pad is determined by several factors, it can not be judged by a single index. XK-P20 is a conformable gap filler pad, deflecting under low compression force, improving thermal contact. We experienced many cases that customer requested higher performance exceeding actual application requirement. It was not helpful to improve thermal management but increased cost instead.

Customer accepted this solution and asked for samples for testing. Three weeks later, we received test result from customer. Temperature rise was within in range of design requirement. Now the trial production is in progress.
