Thermally Conductive Adhesive Keeps Battery Run Cooler and Safe

GLPOLY Thermally conductive adhesive XK-D12 is a high performance, strong bonding strength, high hardness, no puncture risk to Al-plastic film of battery cell.

GLPOLY thermally conductive epoxy adhesive XK-D12 features three items of high thermal performance, strong bonding strength and high hardness, no puncture risk to Al-plastic film of battery cell after curing, eliminating short circuit risk of battery cell. GLPOLY has the raw materials modified to improve filling ratio and particle contact which will greatly optimize thermal performance of thermally conductive adhesives. Automated production processes eliminate artificial error and keep consistancy of product. Some engineers concerned that the cured thermally conductive structural adhesive would puncture Al-plastic film of battery cell, we understood customers’ concerns, but actually, we had made fluid simulation analysis of thermally conductive adhesive already, ensuring that no puncture risk to Al-plastic film of battery cell.

Last year, the chief engineer from a large new energy battery cell manufacturer consulted with me about thermal management solution for battery cell. After we learned about customer’s statement of requirements, I recommended thermally conductive adhesive XK-D12. After reviewing data sheet and in-house test report, customer said he was satisfied with the parameters, especially bonding strength of 5MPa, thermal conductivity 1.2W/mK and hardness Shore D80, but he needed to test by himself in assembly. I applied for samples for this customer. the chief engineer had tested product at 150 centigrade for 1000hrs. the data change before and after test was less than 5%, and cured thermally conductive adhesive complied with Al-plastic of battery cell without puncture risk.
