GLPOLY Helps Customer Solve Application of Thermally Conductive Structural Adhesive On Site.
None of products are perfect, but every product can be refined with trial and feedback. GLPOLY received feedback on application of thermally conductive structural adhesive, that was normal. But the important thing was that we could help customer solve the application issue on floor.
I had a EV battery pack project, all went well with initial validation. But at the eve of battery pack delivery, this engineer from customer called me and said the got a problem on interface contact. In order to solve the issue, our engineers decided to visit customer by taking the earliest flight and arrived customer’s facility at the next afternoon. Our engineers simulated the entire processes, checking each process in detail, and finally they found some clues:
1. the heating planes were not at the same level with a 1-2mm gap. Planes needed to be adjusted;
2. Soft pads placed on heating planes. Needed to replace soft pads with rigid ones;
3. Compressive force customer used is 16.7KPa, much lower than recommended 24KPa;
4. Dispensing route. Test proved that material dispensed in I-shape was the best way, it would cover interface as much as possible;
5. Dispense speed was lower in cold weather, we suggested customer heat material before dispensing;
As I said at the beginning, no product is perfect, in the period of validation, we received valuable suggestions from customers, working together to improve thermal management solution. We are partners, not just seller and buyer.
