There are two types of requirements in the terms of application, one is electrical insulation required, the other is non electrical insulation required. Here we take a famous, electrical insulation phase change material---Hi-Flow 300P as example, we will check out what the differences are and whether XK-C16 phase change material could substitute for Hi-Flow 300P.

Hi-Flow 300P is reinforced by a polyimide on which thermal interface materials is coated, it provides thermal performance and excellent electrical insulation, also offers good puncture, shear and tear resistance. GLPOLY phase change material XK-C16 is reinforced with DUPONT Kapton, and with thermal interface materials coated on both sides, providing excellent electrical properties.

For thermal properties, thermal impedance of GLPOLY XK-C16 phase change material is lower than that of Hi-Flow 300P, thermal impedance is a critical element to judge performance of thermal interface materials, so it means that GLPOLY XK-C16 phase change material has a better thermal performance.

XK-C16 phase change material has been applied in electric motor in our customer from Tianjin. Last year, he wanted to find a substitute for Hi-Flow 300P due to long lead time. logistics outside China were out of control due to pandemics influence, he could not receive products on time, but a local supply will eliminate this issue. It’s not just that this customer wanted to find a substitute, but a lot of customers did. We delivered samples to customer for validation. Two weeks later, I received customer’s email, he said his team was satisfied with the properties and performance, but more importantly, Whether we could deliver products at place on time. We understood his concerns and promised a 14-day lead time of volume production to him. We were confident that no peers could promise such a short lead time to him in China. Now it is in volume production and we has done what we promised.
