Thermally Conductive Adhesives For Battery Cell Bond and Cooling Substituting For PU or Epoxy Based Products

With the advent of CTP technology of battery pack, the demand for a new material becomes more and more urgent. Thermally conductive structural adhesives shall be the ideal solution for battery cell bond with excellent thermally conductive and bonding characteristics.

It is approved that existing polyurethane or epoxy based thermally conductive structural adhesives are not the reliable solutions for cell bond. According to ageing test simulation, the performance decreased by 40% after ageing test at 125 Celsius degree for 500 hours. This is reality. GLPOLY abandoned these technologies and selected another technology-modified epoxy technology.

What kind of materials are GLPOLY thermally conductive structural adhesives?

Thermally conductive adhesives are thermally conductive products designed to offer effective thermal management in heat sources, and combined with effective bonding strength to connect components.

Formulated in multiple mediums, modified epoxy based thermally conductive structural adhesives are designed to deliver three goals:

1. Improving therml management of battery cell and pack, and battery service life;

2. Eliminating the need of mechanical fasteners, simplifying structure, increasing energy density in unit volume, thus increasing battery range;

3. Increasing disaster impact resistance;

GLPOLY thermally conductive structural adhesives are compatible with high volume, automated dispense processes, decreasing installation cost. This material provides 8MPa bonding strength without attenuation after extreme temperaature cycling and shock.

GLPOLY thermally conductive structural adhesives are in trial production in Lixiang Motor, Xiaokang Motor, LISHENH Battery and more, providing superior design flexibility and keeping devices performing at their best.
