GLPOLY silicone-free thermal paste is the first non-silicone based thermal management material that apply to automotive electronics control unit(ECU) in China.
Automotive electronics control unit is also called Auto PC. In the past, most of the thermal management materials applied were thermal silicone grease, silicone putty or thermal silicone pad. Of course, for performance, these products perform as well, but there were always some fault in stability and reliability. GLPOLY non-silicone thermal putty had been verified by third party, and applied to automotive electronics ahead of rival’s products.
Four years ago, a UK customer contacted me and asked for a high performance thermal management material. It will be used onto automotive electronics control unit, requesting a long service life, without silicone content.
Customer said, they used thermal silicone grease in the past, because this material provided extremely low thermal impedance, ultra thin bondline thickness, and it is ease of use. They thought this was a perfect thermal solution and moved forward for test. Test lasted for three months, it worked good in early stage and kept temperature below 60 degree. But at the end, tenperature was out of control, it went up to 90 degree. They took auto PC apart and found that thermal grease had dried out and failure to perform. Besides, there was siloxane volatiles attaached on optic window.
Aiming at the situation, we recommended silicone-free thermal putty XK-GN30 with a thermal conductivity of 3.0W/mK. During test, it performed perfect, no drying out, no siloxane volatiles, no side effects.
Silicone-free thermal putty gel XK-GN30 will wet interface decreasing contact thermal resistance. It deflects under low compressive forces, filling gap easily, decreasing stress on component thus decreasing component failure.
GLPOLY has partnered with LG, CATL, GAC NE and Han’s Laser, providing advanced thermal solutions and superior service.
